One of the hardest parts of maintaining an exercise routine when on a budget is staying motivated and organized. Most people on a budget can’t afford to pay a personal trainer to keep them organized and provide them with motivation to keep them working out consistently. For those of us in this situation it is key to find effective method to keep going on our own.
In order to maintain organization in your fitness routine it is important to set and follow through with a schedule. A schedule includes the days you will work out, the time as well as the duration of the workout. Your schedule can provide you with specific routines to do throughout the week so that you keep consistent variety in your work outs. In addition to your schedule you can also make a log that allows you to record what exercises you accomplished throughout the week.
If you don’t have a personal trainer you can also include friends and family in on your plans. One way to keep yourself honest is to make sure others are aware of your plans so that they will check in with you. Better yet, make dates with your friends to work out together. If you or a friend have an at home gym you can share this makes for even better motivation. Encouragement can keep you going on those days when working out just isn’t what you want to do.
So remember, create a schedule and stick to it. Make sure the schedule is reasonable and doesn’t force you to get up too early or stay up too late. Set a schedule that works well for you and tell your friends and family your plan. If you like, make dates and set up a time each week that you can share a workout with coworkers or friends. If it’s up to you to stay motivated, set yourself up for success.
