Your health is definitely important. If you can stay healthy now, you won’t have as many problems later in life. There’s a lot you can do that may seem to be a lot of extra money, but in the long run, it will save you plenty of doctor’s bills and trips to the hospital.
The number one thing is your diet. Even though a double cheeseburger at McDonald’s is three dollars cheaper than a subway sandwich, which saves you $20 a week on lunch, doesn’t mean that it is the best choice. If you eat a double cheeseburger, and probably fries and a soda, every day for lunch, you’re going to have serious health issues. Eating healthier is going to save you a lot of time and money in the long run, even though it’s a few dollars more here and there.
If you’re worried about healthy foods costing you more, you may want to buy your lunch beforehand than go out to a fast food restaurant for lunch. For example, you may buy a loaf of bread and peanut butter and jelly and make yourself a sandwich that you can bring to work instead of going out every day. Then you can use this $2 loaf of bread for the rest of the week. This will also save you the running time required to go to the restaurant and you can eat your sandwich at work.
The point of all this is, don’t be fooled into buying unhealthy food just because it is cheaper. It is going to make you gain weight and have other health problems. Healthy food isn’t always more expensive. Avoid going out to restaurants every day at lunch. If you can stay healthy now, you’ll stay out of the hospital later when the fast food starts catching up to you.
