One of the best excuses to avoid exercise is that it costs too much. And if you believe that I have many other silly ideas to convince you to do. The truth is that getting plentiful exercise doesn’t require any money at all. You can sit on your couch watching TV telling yourself you will start running again when you can afford shoes but you are only fooling yourself. Not only can you run without the perfect shoes or insoles but you can do a million other activities that will get you that much needed movement. Many tasks we do everyday are merely too automated and require little to no action by us.
Living in a world where everything is done for you can lead to a decrease in your quality of life and the health of your body. There are many tasks, many of them yard work that many people would just rather not do. You can get some of your much needed exercise by doing them. For instance, raking the leaves in the fall. Shoveling snow in the winter. Mowing the lawn in the summer and pulling the weeds in the spring. And that is just the beginning of the list. These four things are chores that keep you active all year. It isn’t always important that your workout makes you sweat and is finished in twenty minutes. The human body needs consistent motion throughout the day. Our bodies were not made to sit in chairs behind a desk and then on the couch all night. The human body is a tool, that needs to be well oiled if you want it to last.
Good upkeep of your human body requires physical activity. If each of us chose to do some of our yard work by hand instead of by machine we would be healthier. You may even be a little happier, sitting in your chair, late in the evening, feeling invigorated.
